I just upgraded everyone to VirusScan 8.7 using ePO4. The result was Scanotlk.dll could not be installed ot loaded. This was not what I wanted to see when I did the upgrade. So a friend M. Jacquard (CISSP and a great guy to boot!) gave me a fix...
Well after a really long weekend I have finally gotten through a SharePoint Services 2.0 to 3.0 migration. The migration itself went about as smooth as most migrations go, you know, plan, double check, triple check, migrate, nothing works. Either way, it is done now and now I am working with a couple quirky things. One thing which has frustrated me for a while was lists and libraries from the migrated site were not showing the Three-State workflow. Apparently this doesn't get turned on on upgraded lists and libraries. Since it took me far to long to find out how to do this, I am posting it here so hopefully it is easier to find.
I just upgraded our systems with VMware's ESX server. When installing you can use SQL 2005 Express, but the downfall is that there isn't an automated backup in the management studio. So I created a batch file that would call a SQL query.
In a script I use I need to query all of a machine's MAC addresses. So, I pulled this function out and made it a stand alone script. Use can query by IP or by computer name.
