I hate when you try to remote into help some one and they are not at their desk.
This er... hack will allow you to take control of users computers without asking for permission.
I figured out one line but needed help from Lewis Roberts for the other change.
You must be a member of the remote helpers group, you can add this via Group Policy.

Write Protect Removable Storage

I just implemented the USB.ADM group policy option to disable USB removable devices on my network.
Then it caused a problem! You're not able to access digital cameras.
So I searched the Web and found a way to disable writing to USB removable drives.

Combine multiple text files

An engineer asked me to create a script that would take ASCII files and combine them for use with a piece of software. The names of the files were all different, and they needed to sort the data by creation/ modification date. So, I created the script below with a little help from the Windows Script Repository.

Create Folders from a list in an .xls Spreadsheet

I needed to create over 300 folders with specific file names.
These names were listed in an excel doc and I didn't want to create the folders by hand.

Uninstall Microsoft Products Silently

I've been gone due to changing jobs. I no longer get the pleasure to work with the Lazy Network Admin.
But, the scripts must go on! This script should be run as a logon script and it will remove MS Project silently from a computer.
Whats good about this script is that you can modify it a bit and remove any software with a silent switch!

When do user passwords expire?

I had a user today ask, "Are we still doing the password security program?  It’s been over 90 days since we first implemented it and I haven’t been prompted to change my password.  Thanks!"
The next thing I said was, F$@%! Then I use most of a script I found at http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms974598.aspx
This helped me to determin when user passwords expire in an OU.

BTW the user above had changed their password 43 days ago, they had just forgotten!
