All of the systems that run Solidworks 2008 SP1.1 at our building have an issue crashing when trying to update an assembly or running the Rx tool. I would get an error about missing dll's or a memory error and then the systems would crash. All of these systems were upgraded from SW 2007 SP2 to SW 2008 SP1.1.

Below is a quick fix. I hope it helps!

  1. Copy .dlls to c:\windows\system32

mfc80u.dll

msvcp80.dll

msvcr80.dll

zlib.dll

  1. Delete C:\Program Files\SolidWorks\sldrx\sldrx.exe.manifest file
  2. Rename ConisioCAD.dll and PDMSW.dll to .old, located in  C:\Program Files\PDMWorks Enterprise folder
  3. Copy ConisioCAD.dll and PDMSW.dll to C:\Program Files\PDMWorks Enterprise
  4. Reboot Computer

You can get the ConisioCAD.dll and PDMSW.dll from the SW CD or call your VAR for a new version of this file.

The zlib.dll is found in C:\Program Files\SolidWorks\sldrx
